GluetissR Aortic Glue - CE 0125
The Safe Glue For Aortic Dissection
We are the UK distributors of GluetissR Aortic Glue.
Two Components - Two Applicators
This is a biologically based two-component adhesive comprising two solutions in ready to use applicators.
Syringe 1 - Contains the honey-coloured glue component which consists of a gelatin-resorcinol solution.
Syringe 2 - Contains the clear hardening component which consists of a glutardialdehyde/glyoxal solution.
Safe Results
GluetissR requires little effort and preparation and is a reliable, high quality product.
Simple and Fast
Safe and ReliableEasy to apply Can be applied directly with ready to use sterile applicators Does not require prior heating (although heating does reduce viscosity) Can be stored without refrigeration Optimised consistency, high initial and final adhesive strength Tissue stabilises and heals quickly No leaky sutures and post-surgical bleeding High shear and tensile strength Creates permanent and flexible tissue bond Complete absorption by the body within 6 weeks, depending on the amount used Tested over many years (in clinical trial since 1992) Contains no formaldehydes
Application of the GlueSpecificationsThe adhesive solution is applied as thinly as possible to both of the dry surfaces to be glued, creating a fine adhesive film. The hardener (the clear solution) is then applied selectively in drops to one side only. 2 to 3 drops (0.05 - 0.1ml) are sufficient to polymerise 1 ml of the glue. The two components are then mixed together briefly using cannulas. The surfaces to be bonded must now be pressed together immediately, and pressure must be applied as evenly and over as large an area as possible for approx. 1 minute.
After approx. 2 minutes, polymerisation is more or less complete and the glue sufficiently cured. Compression clamps specially developed for this purpose can be used to press the surfaces together.
GluetissR components have been specially chosen to ensure that adhesive ability, tolerance and absorbability of the polymerised adhesive substances are optimally adapted to the patient’s needs. A positive and problem free healing process was achieved with no definite morphological changes or dependency as the result of the use of the glue.
Effective substances
Adhesive solution contains:
Hardener solution contains:gelatin 1.3 dihydroxybenzene (resorcinol) aqua ad inject Availabilityethanedial (glyoxal) pentanedial (glutardialdehyde) aqua ad inject Indication3 ml 10 ml Aortic dissections, type A and B
Contraindication
Hypersensitivity of the patient against aldehydes
Preparation
No special preparation is required, however if a lower viscosity is required, the flow and spreading behaviour can be improved by warming the substances to a maximum of 45oC
Adverse effects
No adverse effects are known at the present time, subject to proper use
Storage and shelf life
6 months at room temperature
1 Year under refrigerated conditions (less than 15oC)
GluetissR is sterile and disposable
